Throughout 2026 (and until February 2027) the Monastery of San Benedetto in Gubbio hosts the exhibition EXTINCTION - Dinosaurs in Flesh and Bone: life-size paleosculptures, fossils from the Gola del Bottaccione, Paco Lanciano’s Quadrisfera, and educational workshops for children, in collaboration with the University of Perugia.

From May 9th to September 13th, 2026, Gubbio will host 'Francesco a Gubbio. Art and Spirituality in the Land of the Wolf,' the central exhibition of the 'Gubbio 2026. In the Sign of Francis' program, commemorating the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis's death. A journey through art and spirituality that expands on the previous exhibition about Francis and Brother Wolf (attracting over 17,000 visitors).

The twelfth edition of the Festival del Medioevo takes place in Gubbio from 23 to 27 September 2026 under the title 'Il Tempo di Francesco. Homo homini lupus'. Five days to celebrate Francesco d'Assisi (1182-1226) eight hundred years after his death, with the new headquarters of the Complesso di San Francesco.

The second edition of Ciccia - Festival della Salsiccia Italiana is confirmed for autumn 2026 in Gubbio, with a change in format compared to the first edition. The exact dates and new modalities will be officially announced by the organizers. The formula of widespread tastings in the taverns of the historic center remains, with butchers, breweries, and live music.

The 2nd edition of the Gran Fondo del Montefeltro is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026, with a start and finish in Gubbio. Two routes, one of 138 km (2,095 m of elevation gain) and a medium-distance course of 80 km (1,440 m), cross Umbria and Marche. The race is part of the Circuito Prestigio and the Granfondo Marche.

The 2026 edition of the Spartan Race Gubbio is confirmed for November 7-8 as a Trifecta Weekend: over the two days Sprint (5K), Super (10K) and Beast (21K) are run, along with the Kids Race and the Hurricane Heat. The route goes through the medieval historic centre and natural trails, finishing at the Parco del Teatro Romano.

The 45th lighting of the World's Largest Christmas Tree is scheduled for December 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM, on the eve of the Immaculate Conception, on Monte Ingino in Gubbio. The lights remain on every evening until January 11, 2027, the Sunday following Epiphany.
