The Umbria Film Festival returns to Montone (PG) in July 2026 with its new edition of auteur cinema: premieres, short films, classics, masterclasses and outdoor screenings in the medieval village. At the time of writing, the exact dates and the 2026 program have not yet been released by the organization, which remains faithful to the summer appointment that has been renewed every year since 1997.

For the 10th edition of Suoni Controvento, the Montone stop is scheduled for July 24, 2026, at Rocca di Braccio: headlining is drummer, composer, and producer Sarathy Korwar, who blends jazz, electronic music, and Indian music influences into a powerful and visionary sound. The itinerant festival takes place throughout Umbria from July 16 to September 13, 2026.

The Donation of the Holy Thorn is scheduled in Montone from August 9 to 16, 2026. For a week the medieval village relives the donation of the relic by Carlo Fortebracci, with a competition among the three districts Porta del Borgo, Monte and Verziere for the Palio della Santa Spina, featuring theatrical performances and archery contests.

The Forest Festival is eagerly awaited, as every year, between October and November 2026 in Montone, featuring an exhibition-market of forest products (mushrooms, truffles, chestnuts, honey), local crafts, tastings, and guided walks in the woods. Specific dates and the program will be released by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
